Primeau & Grose: Behind the Scenes

LOVE that borscht!!!!
Posted 8/7/2012 10:55:00 AM

Who made that BORSCHT??  Andrew and I were at Heritage Festival yesterday, right behind the Cambodians, a hop and skip from the Fijians and a bowl toss from the Ukrainians, who had the best borscht I have ever eaten. I would kill for another bowl of that right now!!

Thousands of meat- on-a-stick lovers hit the park and spent sun baked hours sampling things I would never touch (read into that octopus dumplings and tapioca) and savoring musical performances of lands around the globe. It amazes me that you can have more than 63 countries pull it all together in one great city to celebrate one great theory, diversity.  And every year organizers pull it off and never once have I heard anyone grump or growl that they were anything more than grateful to be included.

Why can’t real life countries get along as well? Why can’t great nations around the world take a lesson or two from Heritage Festival?  Granted at three days it’s a tad easier to be nice to one another, but if we worked on it could we extend that peace and good will a little longer. Oh maybe behind the scenes there’s a yearly jostling for tent placement etc, but a solution always seems to be at hand. So if solutions are found here why not on the world stage? Why not at meetings of the great minds; where wars are discussed; where intolerance rules more easily.

I know I know, a tad heady for Primeau… especially after a holiday Monday. Just thought I’d throw it out while we bask in the afterglow. By the way, if you know who made that borscht, I’d really like some more! Seriously that was the best I’ve ever eaten and I fancy myself a bit of a connoisseur…or just a lover of beet soup!!
