On Friday I had a meeting with ATB about the Comedy Festival and as it was ending they asked "Where do you need help?" I thought about it for a second and then said "I think we're good." Since then I've thought of a better answer because there is something we need help with but I think it's you and not them that can help.
I need to sell out the Thursday night gala of the comedy festival. It's a fundraiser for Lupus and if they don't sell at least 300 tickets the charity will lose money. I can't let that happen. The tickets are $45 each at the Citadel Box office 780.425.1820 and the date is October 18th. On the show... Matt Billon, Paul Myrehaug, Big Daddy Tazz, Kevin Stobo, Damonde Tschritter, Graham Neil and myself. That's 6 headliners and a host for $45 while helping cure a disease.
I can't ask ATB to buy all those tickets. I need fans of comedy, fans of mine, fans of charity to buy the tickets. If we sell all 600 tickets then it's going to be a huge success. It will be the only show that I do a longer set on so if you were hoping to catch my act this would be the night to do it. I get asked a lot when I'll be doing a show in Edmonton. This is the next one and the only one in 2012.
I get offers of help for the festival quite often. Most people want to volunteer and maybe catch a show at the same time. This is where I need the help instead, I need 300 of you to buy a pair of tickets to this particular show. I guarantee you'll see a great show and make the Lupus people very happy. Can't go? Buy a pair and give them to someone. Own a business? Buy your staff a night out.
