Primeau & Grose: Behind the Scenes

Everyone has a Right To Their Opinion... Except Me.

Wow... our listeners sure get into politics. That's a good thing, of course, if you have the right to vote you also have the responsibility to be informed and have an opinion. In the last Federal election I came around eventually to suggesting the PC's were likely the best way to go and I received no feedback from doing that at all.

In this Provincial election I am, as I write this blog, still completly undecided. I did think, howvever, that Danniel Smith did nothing to convince me to vote for her party. That doesn't mean I'm not going to vote Wild Rose; it just means she didn't convince me to do it. The reaction to me saying that has been texts and emails calling me all kinds of choice names from idiot to Liberal, which in alberta at least , is apparently an insult.

I'm still undecided about the parties but what I have decided is that those that support the Wild Rose don't like anyone to have a different opinion than them. It makes me feel that I don't want to support an intolerant party. There I said it... now email away and tell me how stupid I am.

I think perhaps that you listened to the debates with too high of expectations, like when a friend goes to a movie and tells you it was the best movie ever, "you got to see it!" So you go and think, yeah it was good, but not great. The Hype ruined it for you. I think SMITH did quite well. Did I expect her to dazzle me. No. Did I expect to learn about all the parties platforms in one hour, no.
You have an opinion and you are entitled to it but remember, you have the soapbox. When you stand on your soapbox and make a comment you have to expect others to express their opinion.
Albertans are not an intolerant people. You have the soapbox. Expect a difference of opinion. It's that simple.

    Dear Mr Grose,

Sometimes it's not what your being convienced of but what the others are promising that you don't want or know they can't keep.

WR is beginning to scare me. I've tried to contact them over the past few weeks vis phone and email and have received no response at all. Not even from the candidate in my area. I wanted clarification on some promises and felt that his answers or views may help me decide. Well, his LACK of response is helping me decide for certain! If He won't bother to return my calls etc prior to voting what can we expect AFTER he's elected?! They have no qualms about sending me 3 letters per month asking for donations ...maybe that's the problem ... I didn't give them enough. Hmmmm.
