Thanks so much for the alternative dishwasher use ideas this morning. Here is the list posted at HuffingtonPost.com:

-Keyboards (sounds dangerous)

-Plastic toys- use the cutlery tray

-Baseball caps- use the top rack

-Shoes- but turn the heat setting off

-Sports gear- again the top rack (shin pads, knee pads)

-Car parts- they suggest cup holders and hubcaps…we got transmission parts

-AC vents

-Window screens

-Bathroom accessories- toothbrush holders, soap dishes, that type of thing

-Plastic brushes, combs and hair accessories

-Potatoes or carrots from the garden (no plate warmer)

-Refrigerator shelves

-Plastic dustpans and hand held brooms

- Finally salmon…which supposedly poaches nicely wrapped in foil
