Time For The Coin Toss: Round 3 Predictions

I can't delay it any longer...the first game is in less than 5 hours. I need to close my eyes, flip the coin and make a choice. I've talked to players on all the teams and media guys from all over...and I've still got no clear gut feeling as far as who will win in the 3rd round. Come to think of it, that's not surprising considering I went an ass-kicking 0-4 in the 2nd round predictions. Hopefully I can, somehow, get back to my 6-2 Round 1 ways...
 
Detroit vs. Dallas
 
Toby Petersen told me the Stars will win and Kirk Maltby told me the Red Wings will win. Who do I believe? I trust Toby more...but could he be trying to deceive me? On the other hand, it probably would be a bad idea to bet against Marty Turco and Brenden Morrow the way they're playing. But on the other, other hand...the Red Wings have "The Mule". I'm lost.

Random Rumblings

After a month away from the sports bullpen I’ve returned with a mind full of musings. You’ll find another Insider Rewards code word at the bottom of the blog but first here are some of the things I’ve been stewing over lately:

 

*Tiger Woods is maybe the only golfer in history that can play a mediocre tournament and not hit a single shot worth speaking of on Sunday during the final round and STILL finish 2nd at The Masters.

 

*Danica Patrick finally won a race. I think it’s important that she didn’t go all Anna Kournikova on us. If you don’t get the reference, Kournikova was gorgeous but won as many professional tennis tournaments as…well….you or me.

 

*The Ducks were eliminated from the playoffs in the 1st round. That&...
