Edmonton was to play the worst team in the NHL tonite......EDMONTON is the worst team in the NHL, who are they trying to kid.
Sad sack management, Sad sack coaches, Sad sack defensemen, Sad sack Horcoff, Hemsky, Gagner.

I have never written an email to you Dan or Rob. However, I am now at my breaking point with this team. The fact that Horcoff is the captain of this team speaks volumes to the mismanagement of the club. I don't care how many lottery picks and young talent the team possesses; if they aren't surrounded by the right pieces and aren't coached effectively then the team isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. They will continue to remain at the bottom of the league. We look like the worst team in the league again, with no light at the end of the tunnel. Yes I know there are a lot of injuries but man just compete. Horcoff, trade him for anything even for a bag of pucks or send him to the minors.

Tom Renney's record with the oilers over two seasons. 42 wins and 85 losses Nothing more needs to be said. But ‘that being said” it is all about the “body of work” If Renney doesn't mandate the helmut in warmups, then he is even worse than I thought.

Even with all the young talent, you still need some quality veterans to get you over the top. Change is needed very quickly or the team could tank worse and the top-draft-choice young guns could get irreparably turned off of playing in Edmonton. Management and coaching NEEDS to be changed. On Friday night, Hall visibly shook his head. It looked terrible. I like Taylor Hall, but Seguin may surpass him simply because he plays with a better organization. Seguin is now playing in a winning atmosphere and is exposed to a solid leadership core; he also plays on a tough team so he won't have the head-aches out there that Hall must endure nightly. Poor Taylor Hall could end up being another talented player weighted down by inept management, a culture of losing, and poor internal leadership from veterans who have their millions and no longer care. My heart sobs for Eberle and the Nuge too.

It’s time for Tambi who claims he doesn't want to be a lottery team to put his money where his mouth is and make a coaching change. Renney must go! It is also time to buy Horcoff out.

At this rate that new building is gonna look more embarrassing than the team when it's half empty. Tambellini and Lowe are pathetic and should both be fired! They have no vision. They have no business plan. Losing is not a business plan. This is cruel treatment of season ticket holders. Has any team in the modern era finished last 3 years in a row??? Say what you want about Burke, Nonis and Murray...at least they try to do something...and guess what both Ottawa and Toronto are back in the thick of a playoff race. Injuries yes but they were playing terrible before these guys got injured, don't kid yourself. This team was 8-2 and now look at their record OUCH! From a fed up Oiler season ticket holder.

Regarding Renney...people are saying that no one would be hating on him if he had a half-decent team this year, with few good players to work with. I agree that Renney is without some key ingredients here. However, I also think it's fair to suggest that Renney has misused - or at least rendered ineffective - the players that he does have already (such as crazy line combos, PRV playing in bottom 6, and Belanger on PP). If Renney is already making bad decisions with a bad team, why should we expect him to make good decisions with a better team?
Add to the fact that Renney has been here for two (possibly three) 30th place finishes, yet his attitude towards the team's losing ways still has that unconcerned sense of "resignation" that you and Rob talked about. Good roster or bad roster, I don't like the thought of a coach who is willing to tolerate losing as much as Renney does. I know that he says that the team is upset, but that's not obvious in their play.

I often listen to your show and enjoy the varied opinions offered to fix the daily woes of the Oilers. I am a season ticket holder and wish I could see more consistency in Oiler play but still find a reason to get up in the morning when the Oilers blow a tire the night before. I sometimes wonder if we've watched the same game while listening to your show while driving home from the game but usually find you and your guests insightful.
I've felt like calling before when some moron comes up with a hair-brained scheme to fix the problems, however I've finally had enough of the Edmonton fans who believe Hemsky or Horcoff or Renney have to be shipped out to cure all that ails the Oilers. I've lived in a number of NHL cities and have never experienced the outlandish turn of tides in the same manner as in Edmonton. When Edmonton is winning, it would seems there is no better team anywhere and everyone is brilliant. When the Oilers start to lose, everyone is a slug.
I'm assuming that the real fans are the ones who aren't calling in every night whining about anything and everything. I would like to see the Oilers win more and anticipate that things will change in a short period of time. More patience- less whining!!

Under Kevin Lowe, the Oilers were run into the sewer. Under Lowe's buddy, Tambellini, the Oilers are wandering the desert. Under Renney, the Oilers play a non attacking game. This organization is in serious trouble and is a permanent member of the underclass of NHL teams referred to as "perma-rebuilds" or "perma-sucks" along with the Columbus Blue Jackets (run by Howson who studied under Lowe) and the NY Islanders. All dysfunctional clubs that defines losing culture and spinning of wheels.

If the Oilers think continuously getting lottery picks is going to result in the same successes teams like the Caps and Pens have had, they are wrong. Crosby and Ovechkin are generational talents and don’t come around every year in the draft, as good as RNH, Hall and Eberle are, they cannot make an immediate impact like OV or Crosby did. And Ovechkin has not even won a cup yet. I guess this is why the Flames shouldn't 'blow it up'. There is no guarantee that strategy works. This was supposed to be the year the Oilers started making a move. They could very well end up with the top pick again. And at this point I don't think that is a good thing for the franchise or its fans.

I think Tambo needs to be held more responsible. This guy reminds me of a JP Ricciardi or a Maciocia..ie.not very good. Tambellini was assistant-GM of the Canucks with no head honcho experience before Lowe plucked him. This is a results driven business which means winning matters. Drafting a defenseman with our first pick this year won't fix the issues on the oilers blueline because you won't see the impact for three to five years. It seems that the only way to communicate our frustration is at the ticket purchase counter. In Toronto no matter how bad they were, they always sold out. In my opinion, this hurt the franchise and prevented management from making proper decisions to quickly remedy the situation. The best thing they did was to hire an impatient Brian Burke, someone who is not afraid to make a decision. We have a GM that can best be described as Mr. Dithers, and he has been exposed. You can build through the draft, and acquire players at the same time........someone needs to explain this to him. I'm not talking about overpriced UFA's but guys that will be around to support our next generation of players.

Anyone who says this was expected to be a hard year again is wrong. Expectations were higher this year and they have not been met. It was expected that the Oil would at least challenge for a playoff spot and that's not happening. Injuries are no excuse as many other teams go through the same injury problems and are still in the picture. We have as many injury problems every year so shall we accept this garbage year after year? Katz promised the fans something different that they've been used to for the last 15 years and he needs to step up and show that he means it.

Ok seriously I've loved the Oil forever but we need to take the rose coloured glasses off. This is year 4 of the rebuild not 2. Horcoff is the worst captain in the league and would be a fourth liner at best on any playoff bound team. How long till Eberle, Hall or RNH calls out Oilers coaching and management. You can only stand losing for so long. The kids won't sign long term deals if the team is a bag of suck for their first three years. I can't watch anymore games unless I put Plexiglas on my TV. The fans have to boycott a game, just to show they aren't going to take this any more!!
