How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

Look around you in traffic and you’ll people texting and cell phoning while driving.  On the week-end, I saw a woman driving with a cigarette in one hand and her cell phone in the other.  I do not know how she was steering.  In New Jersey, where I spent part of my summer vacation, they have taken distracted driving to a whole new height.  Your pets must be restrained in the car.  No dog’s head hanging out of the window; no pets in the driver’s lap, and dogs riding in the back of a pick-up is absolutely out, just like in Alberta.  Your pet requires a leash that clips onto their collar with an attachment that snaps into a car seat belt.  This requirement falls under the Animal Cruelty Laws, so no more dogs in crashes with broken legs or cats slammed into the windshield or into another passenger.  ...
