There But For Fortune

I’ve had two separate visits from women who said I was their last hope.  Lawyers would not help them, and the judge was against them, after social workers, had taken their children, one said, "For no reason."  So, why were the children taken? One said because these workers thought it was bad for her little ones to see mom get beaten up.  The other said it was because her boyfriend was in the house.  She said the judge was to blame for ordering him out, even though he said he would not touch the woman’s young daughter again.  I am no expert in this area, but perhaps if they want their children back, their next court appearance should tell a different story.  Maybe it would mean mom getting a job or some education that would lead to one.  Maybe the court would like to hear about some parental or other ...
