And the winner is – K-days! It reminds me of 1985 when Coca Cola, watching its sales decline, launched the new Coke. It turned out to be good news and bad news. Consumers revolted but company got millions in free advertising world-wide, and people not wanting to lose what they liked went back to buying Coke. Of course, the cola company was dealing with a massive audience, where Edmonton had about 38,000 voting to go back to the future. The new name might have worked if they’d actually sold it to us. Did I miss the actual theme with the new name? Gone were the window dressings many stores had for Klondike Days. Gone was the reason for people to dress up in their Klondike finery. No Capital Ex Kate. No banjos and straw hats. No Klondike Mike. Will we will go back to all of that or will K-days ...
