One of the big issues the Wildrose Party jumped on in this campaign was the so-called “Do Nothing Committee”. Alison Redford suffered a forced flip-flop. But, you know what they say about pointing out blame – you’ve got three fingers pointing back at yourself. That’s the position Danielle Smith finds herself in, over the very same issue of “doing nothing”. I don’t recall ever hearing the mayors of Edmonton and Calgary both criticizing a premier hopeful before, but they are. Both of them disappointed with the “do-nothing” stance of Danielle Smith as she supports Wildrose candidates in Edmonton and Calgary who have made inflammatory comments. At the same time, I have a letter from Doug. He is a veteran who says he fought for freedom of conscience and religion and expression and does not want to see the candidates censured.
