It’s Friday, let’s have a look in the mailbag.  About the Quebec election, many pointing out they take the most from transfer payments, much of it Alberta oil money, so they have no reason to fix the Quebec economy.  Fred says we should cut them off and let them stand on their own two feet.  About the Freedom Tower in New York, Lorne thinks it’ll be a target for terrorists.  Glen says if the U-S would rein in their greedy corporations they wouldn’t have to worry about terrorists.  About improving the food in some senior’s centers, Kate says now improve the staff to client ratio.  Mr. John points out we have regulations for massage parlors but seemingly not for senior’s food.  Joy’s daughter worked in a nursing home and was told the “inmates” were allowed one bath a week.  About complaining students at Lister Hall, Judy lived there when the residences were not co-ed, the girls from Kelsey had to check in, and there was no liquor.  She says it’s time today’s students just grew up.  And, about the man who shot a co-worker near the Empire State Building in New York, the picture to the right is one I took of an unfortunate sign not far away.  Let me know what you think.  Have a great week-end.

About the lack of law enforcement on our highways - I live near Peace River and travel to Edmonton several times a year. Most times I make the 10 hour round trip
without seeing any police vehicles. Perhaps there are 'ghost cars' out. Then one trip I saw 3 police vehicles within the town of Whitecourt and they each had a vehicle stopped. Travelling the speed limit means you are in the way of anyone in a hurry. Oh, and twice the semi rigs almost ran over me .

I so agree with the comment on Quebec! They take more from Canadians and still demand more! Listening to a CBC talk show earlier this week, they were interviewing a politician from Quebec. He repeated again and again how Quebec DEMANDS respect. You don't demand respect , you EARN it and Quebec does not deserve respect! Time and again, one hears "let them go", and let the rest of us see how long they last on their own!
