Your Thoughts
Posted 8/17/2012 6:30:00 AM

It’s Friday, time to hear your thoughts.  About the downtown fatal shooting, Greg asks, “Has it come to the point where we can’t have a disagreement without fear of being shot?”  He wants capital punishment for cases like this.  Many people tell me if there is a shooter in their midst, they don’t want to reach for a camera; they’d rather have a gun.  About people still texting despite the law against distracted driving, Fred and Gary both say they see police using their cell phone or computer while they drive.  Richard insists there is no correlation between cell phone use and collisions, but Daryl says Richard obviously does not do much driving.  CJ wants automatic jamming devices for all electronic devices once the motor is running.  About the anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, and my suggestion that for today’s youth, Justin Bieber might be their Elvis, Barry says Bieber couldn’t carry the King’s toothbrush.  Bill says the new music hurts his ears and that his dad was right in complaining about his music when dad said, “What goes around comes around.”  Have a great week-end.

Hey Bob just wondering. About your thoughts on fluoride, new study from Harvard says it causes cancer in lab rats and lowers IQ in children. This study took ten years, if it's correct why are we still adding fluoride to our water supply. I read Calgary stopped fluoridation, what do they know that we don't, just wondering I have children and a grandchild, wouldn't want them to get cancer or a lowered IQ just to stop a few cavities after all we do have dental insurance, but nothing ensures us that were going to live if we get cancer. Do your own research, I would really like to know what you find,I'll. Be watching you as always hope to hear something from you on this topic.
    Thanks. George

Bob replies: Anybody? MY research over the last couple of years shows it all depends who you ask. As for Calgary, I'm told it seems like they just happened to elect a knee-jerk council.
