It’s Friday – time to hear your thoughts. People against the NO Zero policy at Ross Shep want Lynden Dorval to run for trustee next time around. They see a lot of support. About the strike at the Hardisty nursing home, some want an audit to find out if the claims of pocketed government funding are true. About the province paying for gender reassignment surgery while denying other procedures, Sharon thanks me for saying what’s right even though it may not be popular. Many letters hoping the government will start funding other needs, and a couple of letters accusing me of being homophobic and promoting hatred, oddly enough, for suggesting equal treatment. I have explained to them that I understand a person's sexuality is not a choice. What they do not know is that I worked for some time with an openly gay boss and his partner, here at 630 CHED. My boss spent some time in my home and we went flying together, and I learned from him that he did not choose to be gay. We've had gay people on staff. One, who suffered for years with a gender identity crisis is now in another province preparing for GRS. I assessed this person in writing as a valuable employee and support whatever he feels is right now, for him. And one final word, Angie says if the province is so big on how people look, how about paying for her daughter’s braces? Let me know what you think.
