Your Opinion
Posted 6/8/2012 4:18:00 AM

It’s Friday, time for your thoughts.  About the High School No Zero policy.  Joanne wonders why her children did not have to learn to write.  She says a signature gives you such a secure sense of identity.  John got a job application from a young man who filled it out in text language.  He couldn’t understand it.  Jo, at the university, has students a year away from becoming a teacher, who cannot spell, and they’ll soon be teaching your children.  Graham wonders why English is so important when you can take a written driver’s exam in several languages.  Allen advises us to Google something called The Dumbing Down of America.  Richard says parents, not teachers, should be in charge of educating their children.  About our noisy society, there are complaints from people living near the strikebound Hardisty nursing home, about drivers blaring their horns all day in support of the strikers.  About finding job, many of the unemployed say jobs go unfilled because they simply don’t pay enough.  David says they pretend to pay; we pretend to work.  Let me know what you think and have a great week-end.

    Good Day Robert (opinions)

The oil spill came at inopertune time don't you think? Low world crude prices and high pump prices and no word from Premier Redford on greedy oil.. Instead of demanding an explantation from oil to the spill she defends them and says what a good job they will do cleaning it up. Umm.. Does she represent Albertans I wonder?

@PaddyD PaddyD I don't think you should even bother to fret over this one. The majority of Albertans are connected to the oil. As long as they can keep buying toys and burning the fuel they will NEVER get the concept. Environment be damned. So long as they get theirs. There is absolutely no consideration for other people, the environment or the future that will be left for anyone else. Chew it all up and spit it out. Alison just got back from the taxpayer paid for trip to the Bilderberg meeting. Trust me, your concerns are not even on the radar.
