While Rogers Place has been up and running for nearly an entire NHL season already, crews need to do some minor maintenance.
On March 8, the Oilers Entertainment Group confirmed some exhaust fans in the new arena needed to be replaced.
“We found that since opening the building and since commissioning the mechanical system at Rogers Place we’ve seen some component failures,” Tim Shipton with the Oilers Entertainment Group confirmed to 630 CHED News. “Not in all nine exhaust fans but there have been enough failures that the project team determined that it was the right course of action to replace these roof exhaust fans.”
On Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., 105 Avenue between 102 and 103 Street will be closed to the public while crews remove and install some of the new fans. That road is expected to reopen late Wednesday afternoon.
The next closure will happen at 104 Street just north of 104 Avenue on Thursday.
Finally, 104 Avenue between 104 and 103 Street will be closed for parts of Friday and Saturday.
