Six fire trucks were called to a blaze in the north Edmonton neighbourhood of Riverdale Monday morning.
The owner of the single family home at 120 Avenue and 95 Street made the call at around 9:40 a.m.
Neighbour Jacob Fortin said he could see lots of smoke coming out of the house.
“To me it looks like the fire was in the basement, because it seemed to be coming out of the foundation.”
The house is a rental unit that Fortin says has a lot of turnover, and was not well kept.
Two people appeared to have been in the house when the fire broke out.
Edmonton Fire Rescue quickly had the fire under control. There were no injuries and no word on how the blaze started.
