A family in northeast Edmonton had some surprise visitors Tuesday night.
Beat officers were alerted to a man being robbed of his cell phone near 118 Avenue and 67 Street at around 10pm. Police found the suspect and started after him when he took off on foot.
The running man jumped into the open window of an apartment building in the area, a shock to the father of two young children inside.
He watched as officers followed the suspect inside, out the front door, and out of the building. Police caught up as he was turning the corner.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested. In addition to nine outstanding offences, he faces charges of robbery, drug possession, and being unlawfully in a dwelling. (kdr)
