Concerns about the playing status of quarterback Mike Reilly were quelled on Wednesday as the Eskimos practiced for the first time since their Eastern Semi-Final win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Reilly suffered a left arm injury in the fourth quarter and didn’t return.
Wednesday at practice Reilly took all of the first team reps and looked comfortable making all of the throws.
Following the Eskimos win over the Tiger-Cats Reilly said his arm was feeling better and he expected to start in Sunday’s Eastern Final against the Ottawa REDBLACKS.
Head coach Jason Maas says he was pleased to see Reilly out on field Wednesday but wouldn’t commit to Reilly starting on Sunday.
The team signed veteran pivot Thomas DeMarco who was with the Eskimos during training camp and then cut in the early in the regular season.
Fullback Calvin McCarty took first team reps helping his chances of returning to the lineup, he’s been out since mid-September with a broken leg.
Fullback Aaron Milton has been placed on the one-game injured list.
Left tackle Tony Washington returned to practice, he’s been out since Thanksgiving with a leg injury. Washington didn’t take any first team reps.
Sunday’s Eastern Final in Ottawa will kick-off at 11am from TD Place Stadium in Ottawa. 630 CHED will have live coverage starting with the pre-game show at 9:30am.
