In order to help Fort McMurray in any way they could, the provincial Culture and Tourism ministry decided to step up in their own unique way.
Minister Ricardo Miranda explains.
“While the fires certainly left a mark on this Province, Albertans have remained strong and compassionate throughout the hardship. I’m proud to say that Alberta Culture and Tourism was able to contribute to relief efforts by providing wildfire evacuees with free admission to provincially owned historic sites and museums for the summer.”
Miranda says more than 6000 Fort Mac Residents took advantage, visiting such sites are the Tyrrell Museum, Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village and the Oil Sands Discovery Centre.
