The Alberta Energy Regulator is at the scene of a pipeline leak southeast of Grande Prairie.
Trilogy Energy Corp. says it discovered the leak Thursday in one of its crude oil pipelines within its Kaybob Montney Oil Development, about 15 kilometres from Fox Creek.
AER spokeswoman Carrie Rosa says it’s not known how much has seeped into the surrounding marsh or how long the line was leaking.
“We do know that they discovered the pipeline leak while they were doing an inspection of the right of way,” said Rosa.
“The area that it’s located in is fairly overgrown so we’re just working with a company to gain access to the site.”
Triology says the leaking line carries a 50/50 mix of water and emulsion, and has been diverted. (djs/ms)
