What is it they say, be careful what you wish for because you just might get it?
Before Premier Notley was Premier Notley, there was a lot of anti-pipeline talk from her supporters. Once in office that was clarified somewhat to mean pipelines that were not built according to some very stringent rules.
Now there are 190 conditions to be met before Energy east can be considered. To many that means it will never be built. Others say it could be so wrapped up in red tape it could not possibly leak.
The pipeline is still on the political table that runs from Alberta to Ottawa.
Premier Notley wants a pipeline in return for supporting the prime Minister’s heavy-handed climate change plan.
Do you support it?
It’s to force us to choose lower carbon alternatives.
To me it’s more of a punishment for not buying an electric car I cannot afford, or installing solar panels on my roof I cannot afford.
Top that off with a provincial and federal government we cannot afford.
During the last federal election, I was getting calls from people saying, “Bob, I wish we could get rid of Harper.”
When I would ask, “Why?”, some weren’t exactly sure except that all their friends were saying it.
Yes, I do understand the problems some had with Prime Minister Harper. I had issues of my own.
But, once again, be careful what you wish for.
