It’s not home, but if feels like. The Eskimos won another game at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg on Friday night defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 40-26. The win was the second in a row for the Eskimos and moves them to within 2 points of the Bombers in the west. Including last year’s Grey Cup game Edmonton is now 6 and 0 in the Bombers new stadium since it opened in 2013.
John White, a late add to the lineup thanks to an injury in practice to Shakir Bell on Wednesday was the story. White playing for the first time since September 18th ran the ball for 104 yards and caught seven passes for another 64 yards. White also scored two TDs and a two point convert. Derel Walker with a touchdown late in the fourth quarter put an end to any thoughts of a comeback for the Bombers who have now lost two in a row after a seven game win streak.
Mike Reilly completed 84% of his passes and threw two TD passes and now has a touchdown pass in seven straight games. Eskimos kicker Sean Whyte was 3 for 3 in field goals.
A long break for the Eskimos now, they will play next in Montreal on Thanksgiving Monday.
