Mayor Iveson loves artist Ryan McCourt’s design for a new flag that came about after a treaty 6 contest. It really is very nice with a nod to treaty six “as long as the sun shines, rivers flow and grass grows.” All those elements are incorporated. But then high school teacher Dustin Bajer thinks the magpie would be ideal to grace a city flag. It is prettier than most give it credit for and it sticks around here all winter. We do have a flag, but it hasn’t been updated since 1966 and the mayor thinks it is time for a change. Do you have any ideas?
