The Edmonton Oilers will play their second game of the Young Stars tournament in Penticton Saturday night when they take on the Calgary Flames.
– Winger Jesse Puljujarvi will sit out after notching two goals and an assist Friday in a 4-1 win over Vancouver. “We want to see other guys in different areas,” says head coach Gerry Fleming. “We just pulled him out tonight. No specific reason as to why. It’s just his turn to sit out.”
– The Flames lineup features winger Matthew Tkachuk, who was drafted sixth overall by the club in 2016. There was speculation the Oilers would have drafted Tkachuk fourth overall had Puljujarvi not been available.
– Dylan Wells will start in goal for the Oilers. He was drafted in the fifth round, 123rd overall, by the Oilers in June. Wells plays for the Peterborough Petes in the OHL.
The game begins at 8:30pm mountain time and can be heard on 630 CHED following the conclusion of the Canada/Czech Republic World Cup game. (jrw)
