As we get into the first full week of school for most, it seems one of the issues this fall won’t revolve around zero grades, but rather, homework. Each teacher has the freedom to decide how much, if any, homework is assigned. A number of teachers, especially in the 9 to 11 year old age group now think homework just causes stress and unnecessary friction at home and don’t enrich or enhance the learning experience. Those in favor say it gives you a chance to talk about school with your children as you help them. Some studies have shown a correlation between homework and higher achievement. I do know that if you never do homework, you will be in for a huge shock when you get into post secondary. What are your thoughts?
