What do you do when you find a dog with 630 tattooed on him? You name him CHED.
That’s the case with an injured pooch recovering with the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society.
SCARS’ Terra MacLean says Ched came to them as a stray dog.
“We got a complaint from a very kind gentleman that picked him up and definitely knew he was injured,” she says. “So we sent a driver out to scoop him up and take him into the vet clinic, Westlock vet clinic actually, they help us out a ton.”
They determined Ched had likely been struck by a car, resulting in a broken hind-leg. Surgery was able to repair the damage.
“We more or less had to re-break it and plate it, which is quite an extensive surgery for the poor guy,” explains MacLean. “But he’s in recovery now and doing quite well.”
MacLean says they hope to get Ched up for adoption soon. (scb)
