There are fears the Metro Line LRT is driving away more people from area businesses then it brings.
At issue, are those frustrating delays at intersections for drivers.
The Kingsway District Association, which represents 800 businesses in the area, is calling for a traffic study.
Ward 2 Councillor, Bev Esslinger, says it might not be a bad idea.
“Are people avoiding that area because of the hang-ups there…I don’t know, but it would be nice to have some information to respond to that,” remarked Esslinger.
Anna Geczi, with DK’s Pet Grooming, says the issue is affecting her job.
“Customers have a hard time to get to me on time because they call and they are stuck at the intersection for a while — like sometimes even 15 minutes; it’s getting really bad,” explained Geczi.”
LRT trains in the Kingsway area are still forced to slow to 25 km/h at level crossings, forcing traffic to wait, due to on-going issues with the signaling system. (Global News/td)
