Edmonton police say they’ve been working hard to counter drug trafficking downtown and it felt good to hear local residents cheer at a neighbourhood safety meeting when they told them about the latest bust.
It took place on Wednesday night, with a search warrant carried out at a home in the area of 92nd Street and 110A Avenue.
Police say they obtained the warrant after officers witnessed a man taking part in a drug transaction outside of the home and arrested him.
Once inside, police say they seized more than $15,000 in prescription drugs, along with a stolen laptop, body armour, a prohibited push-dagger, and a knife.
The charges against Jules Bimazubute, who is 46, include four counts of drug trafficking, possession of stolen property — an offensive weapon — and a prohibited device, along with possession of body armour without a valid permit. (td)
