While you are spending your summer wherever you can afford, Edward Snowden is spending this summer and likely more to come in Russia. They’ve given him a residency permit.
As you know, he’s a wanted man after exposing the U-S government’s skimming of everything from phone records to on-line activity.
Snowden says all he did was show the world how a government intruded into their lives, without a warrant.
So, how does he support himself?
The Guardian says, among other things, he makes money doing speaking engagements.
Using the same telepresence technology you might have in your company board room, he can speak anywhere in the world, while American political big-wigs eat their hearts out, wishing they could make a treason charge, stick.
Snowden is hiding from Washington but not from you.
He admits what he did.
So, is he a hero for opening up government files, or a criminal who embarrassed the people at the top?
Part of me likes what he did, the other part is afraid to open the floodgates on what else he knows.
Let me know what you think.
