We’re expecting to learn more today about the takedown and death of a man suspected of an alleged terror plot on Canadian soil.
RCMP say a suspect was killed in a confrontation with police in Strathroy, Ontario but few other details are known.
Mounties say they were acting on “credible information” about a possible terror threat.
Aaron Driver, originally from Winnipeg, was under a court order since February to not associate with any terrorist organization.
Driver’s lawyer and the Crown agreed in February to a peace bond, stating there were “reasonable grounds” to fear that he may participate or contribute in the activity of a terrorist group.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the country’s terrorism threat level remains at “medium,” where it has stood since the fall of 2014. (twd)
