A huge 4-3 comeback win for the Edmonton Prospects on Wednesday night in Medicine Hat. It was game five of the best of five Western Major Baseball League’s (WMBL’s) western division final against the Mavericks. Medicine Hat led the series two games to one, but the Prospects won game four by a score of 10-7 this past Monday night, forcing a fifth and deciding game in the Hat Wednesday evening.
After taking an early 1-0 lead, the Prospects fell behind 3-1 to Medicine Hat after two innings. But then, the Prospects scored two in the top of the sixth and the eventual winning run in the top of the seventh to move on to the WMBL’s best of five final series against the Swift Current Indians.
Games one and two go Thursday and Friday nights in Swift Current; game three is back in Edmonton Saturday at 7 p.m. at Edmonton Ball Park, the former Telus Field. Game four, if necessary, is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Edmonton Ball Park.
