Canada’s Olympic team has racked up another medal, bringing our count to six as of early Thursday morning.
The Canadians took bronze in the women’s 4×200-metre relay last night, anchored by 16-year old Penny Oleksiak, who captured her third medal of the Games. It’s Canada’s fourth medal in swimming. Oleksiak goes for another medal Thursday night in the 100-metre freestyle final.
We nearly had another medal in the pool. Santo Condorelli missed out on a bronze medal in the men’s 100-metre freestyle by just three-hundredths of a second.
The Canadian women’s basketball team reached 3-0 in group play for the first time in the team’s Olympic history with a win over Senegal. The ladies have guaranteed themselves a spot in the quarter-finals.
Canada currently sits 12th in overall medals. (bw)
