For the first time since the 2013 season, the Eskimos have lost three straight games. Saturday night in Ottawa, the REDBLACKS got a touchdown and a field goal in the final 5 minutes to beat the Eskimos 23-20.
The winning points came on a Chris Milo 25 yard field goal with a minute and half remaining, it was the 3rd field goal of the game for Milo. Ottawa also got touchdowns from Ernest Jackson and Chris Williams.
The Eskimos only TD came from the defence, an interception return by JC Sherritt that gave the Eskimos a 20-13 lead with less than five minutes remaining.
Mike Reilly saw two long streaks come to an end. He threw for 255 yards, the first time in 9 games he didn’t get to 300 yards. Reilly and the offence did not produce a touchdown and that ended an 11 game streak with Reilly throwing for a TD.
The Eskimos QB was hit hard all night. Sacked twice, and the REDBLACKS were flagged for four roughing the passer calls. Reilly was helped up several times after big hits. A full recovery will be difficult with the Eskimos next game just 5 days away on Thursday.
