News came out yesterday that Winnipeg based Ben Moss Jewelers is closing down. I happen to be wearing my wedding ring which was purchased from Ben Moss, almost 40 years ago. They have been around for over 100 years but site the economy and competition as reasons to shut down. On a related note, I came across this tidbit yesterday:
3% of guys have lied to their significant other about the cost of the engagement ring.
I can’t lie. Mary was with me when we picked hers out. Forty years ago it was $750, at a time when I was making $550 a month. I know, I broke the three month salary rule. I know this will vary widely depending on how far back it goes, but do you remember what you paid for your engagement ring?
