There are a lot of big events happening in Alberta this weekend, but for Camrose, Alberta it’s all about Country Music this weekend.
The Big Valley Jamboree is back with its 24th annual event.
CISN Country 103.9’s Chris Scheetz says it’s the love of country music that brings everyone back, year after year.
“It’s all about that common bond, that love of country music and that love for everything that’s kind of right in the world,” says Scheetz. “Everyone loves to party, dance, and have fun as well. It’s like a family reunion. You have little kids being held in moms’ arms, to people who are probably in their 80s or 90s who have been here for all 24 years, like myself, who absolutely love it.”
This year’s weekend long event offers some of the biggest names in country music, such as Blake Shelton headlining Saturday and Carrie Underwood headlining on Sunday. Also performing Sunday is Sam Hunt, who Scheetz calls one of the fastest rising stars in Country Music.
The event is sold-out, which didn’t happen last year. Organizers tells Global News they’re happy to see every ticket sold, as they were wondering of a slower Alberta economy would hurt tickets sales this year. tl/kb
