You’ve heard the talk about the possibility of a Canada Post work stoppage this week-end.
With many people saying they use email for just about everything and that they get mostly junk mail from Canada Post, one person asks, “What if the post office went on strike and nobody noticed?” Well, I would.
We get regular parcels at our house and we know our mail delivery agent quite well.
Recently, a package was late in arriving.
My wife, Marg, did a trace and received a reply saying the package had been delivered to us the day before, by Canada Post.
No, we did not get a parcel.
We showed the notice to our delivery agent. He knows us and what our house looks like and he knew he did not bring a parcel the day before. He checked his truck to make sure nothing had been left behind but there was nothing.
He had the Post Office check the parcel number on the trace form but the number was not one of theirs.
So, we were missing a parcel, until a man showed up at our door carrying it.
He lived on a different street, with the same house number.
The label showed that although it said Canada Post, it had, for some reason, been given to a courier company at the border.
They not only mis-delivered it, because there was no one home, they just left it on the doorstep.
Yes, I would miss Canada Post.
Let me know what you think.
