Controversy is stirring over a target sign at a golf tournament in Brooks.
Premier Rachel Notley’s head was used as a target at a golf tournament, run by the Brooks Big Country Oilmen’s Association.
Critics now say it’s an act of a violent threat, especially considering the death of a female British MP over the weekend.
President of the Brooks Big Country Oilmen’s Association Ernest Bothi tells the Ryan Jespersen Show he was just trying to make a few people laugh.
“Rachel Notley as a person, I apologize to her. As a premier, I’m concerned about her policies. There’s a lot of people in Alberta that haven’t worked in a long time. It was meant to be a light-hearted attempt at humour.”
Bothi says he didn’t mean for the whole situation to get out of hand, as it wasn’t his intent.
