Maskwacis RCMP have laid charges, after an incident Friday morning that had officers diving for cover.
Mounties responded to a call of an intoxicated man with a gun. When officers arrived at the scene, shots were fired in their direction.
After six hours the suspect walked out of the home, holding a loaded gun. He was quickly subdued and the weapon was seized.
Twenty-two year old Brandon Simon of Maskwacis is facing a long list of charges including: two counts of pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm while unauthorized, possession of a firearm that was obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life, and uttering threats.
Simon is expected to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court, Tuesday morning.
Two other men were arrested at the scene, but have been released. tl/td
