ALERT is calling it the largest fentanyl seizure ever in Edmonton, and the third largest overall.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says they got a tip a vehicle was returning to Edmonton from lower mainland BC with a large shipment of drugs. June 3, they located the vehicle and executed searches of three homes in the Rutherford, Terwillegar and Lewis Estates neighbourhoods.
2000 fentanyl pills were seized, along with 58 kilograms of dried marijuana, 4 kilograms of marijuana shatter, and some cocaine. The total street value of the drugs is pegged at around $866,000.
Christopher Jervis, 28, James Jervis-Hilker, 35, and Billy Roche, 28 – all of Edmonton – were taken into custody. All three face charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking. (scb)
