A toddler is in the care of Child and Family Services after an ALERT investigation freed the child from allegations of sexual abuse.
The ALERT Internet Child Exploitation Unit says the four-year-old was rescued from alleged sexual abuse from his mother, from Red Deer, who is not being named to protect the child’s identity.
The investigation started in late May after officers were tipped off by the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
The woman, who is 43 but is not being named, is charged with sexual exploitation, sexual assault and making, possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography.
Photos of the alleged abuse were sent over email.
ALERT says the woman was arrested at work, at a licensed daycare facility in Red Deer, though they do not suspect children from the daycare were victims.
The daycare has not been named but parents have been notified. (twd)
