MLA Derek Fildebrandt is back in the Wildrose Caucus effective immediately.
In a release, Wildrose leader Brian Jean says Fildebrandt has made a clear commitment to address their concerns over his social media track record, and take steps to fix it.
He goes on to say Fildrebrandt is an important member of their team, with a bright future in the organization.
Fildebrandt was suspended Friday after comments made on Facebook, where he appeared to support a homophobic slur against Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne. He has apologized, saying he misread the comment.
Fildebrandt has agreed to hire a social media manager to handle his public interactions, moving forward.
The Wildrose says Fildebrandt agreed to the criteria set out by the party to have his suspension lifted, adding some alleged conditions reported in the media were not accurate. (scb, efmb)
