Firefighters taking on the blaze near Fort McMurray now have some help from across the world.
300 firefighters from South Africa landed at the Edmonton International Airport Sunday night.
Malekgoa Letwaba tells Global News it’ll take some coordination to make sure everyone’s on the same page.
“We’ve got our different ways of doing things, and you guys do as well, so we’ll combine them and do a great job, all of us.”
The group performed a song and dance for people, some of them Fort Mac area residents, who had gathered there to greet them.

The province says the Fort McMurray wildfire is still considered to be out of control, and is now over 580,000 hectares in size. (kdr)
