The Wildrose Party has suspended its finance critic from caucus over a post on Facebook.
Derek Fildebrandt responded to a post by one of his constituents by saying “proud to have constituents like you.”
The problem is, the person referred to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, who is openly gay, as “Mr. Wynne or whatever the hell she identifies as.”
On Twitter, Fildebrandt says he “entirely misread” the post, and the comment is “100% against my views.”

The Wildrose Party issued a news release late Friday night saying “Mr. Fildebrandt made an unacceptable comment on social media that does not represent the values of the Wildrose Caucus.” (td/tl)
