The Fort McMurray wildfire continues to grow, mostly in Saskatchewan.
The fire now covers over 566-thousand hectares, 4,600 of which is in Saskatchewan.
There are a total of 15 wildfires burning, but the Fort Mac one is the only one that’s still out of control.
There are now over 2,000 firefighters battling the blazes, thanks to reinforcements from around the world.
There are also 88 helicopters, 25 air tankers and 256 pieces of heavy equipment helping in the effort.
Residents of Fort McMurray and the area can start heading home on a neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood basis starting next Wednesday.
Temperatures in the region are forecasted to be moderate over the next few days, with chances of thundershowers on Thursday and Friday. (km)
