Can Man Dan is known for his stunts, raising money and awareness for the Food Bank.
This time he’s put together the “Month of Extreme and Wacky Stunts” for the women’s shelter, WIN House.
Dan Johnstone, also known as Can Man Dan, says the goal is to raise $20,000.
“It is a little bit steep” says Johnstone. “Especially since we’re in a recession and course with the Fort Mac wildfire, people are donating to that, and rightfully so. Whatever we can get though, I’ll be happy with that, and present WIN with a cheque with any amount.”
Johnstone says he and his mother were victims of domestic abuse, and he hopes to help bring awareness to an issue that many families are facing.
“Domestic abuse, the bruises heal, but those memories, they stick with you forever. We need to get the word out there. If you’re in that environment, get out. The more you stay in it, the worse it’s going to get, and it’s going to take you more time to recover.”
