Thanks to this long-awaited rain, Edmontonians will be able to use their backyard fire pits.
A fire ban that’s been in effect for the City of Edmonton is lifted, just in time for the May long weekend.
That means citizens can use fire pits, fireworks and cook stoves using charcoal. The city will also again be issuing open burning permits.
However, Edmonton Fire Rescue says even with this moisture, the city is still really dry, and Edmontonians should be careful with any open flames.
As of Friday, the City of Leduc, is still under a fire ban. That will be in effect until further notice. (ms)
