Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi remains in hot water after contentious remarks he made about Uber and it’s CEO appeared online.
On Monday, Calgary City Council voted to have Nenshi’s remarks reviewed by the city’s integrity commissoner.
Councillor Ward Sutherland doesn’t think any more comments should be made on the matter until the investigation has concluded.
“I’d rather that they do the investigation and look at it. From this point on, I’m not comfortable making any opinions or any statements. I’d rather get to the facts, have all the facts from the independent department and then we deal with it.”
Nenshi was using a different ride sharing company while in Boston when he referred to Uber’s CEO as a quote “dick”. He also said that Uber had allowed someone with a criminal record to pass its employee screening process.
Nenshi was unaware the driver was filming the entire conversation, which ended up being posted on the internet.
In the two days it’s been up on YouTube, the video has been viewed more than 30,000 times.
