An Edmonton man faces charges after police say they pulled over a speeding vehicle Friday evening.
The GMC Yukon was pulled over near Wayne Gretzky Drive and when officers approached they noticed what appeared to be marijuana sticking out of a backpack in the back of vehicle. After a check of the vehicle’s interior, police say they found six grams of marijuana, a loaded handgun with 76 rounds of ammunition, two large hunting knives and an axe.
Police later found what the say is an improvised explosive device which lead to the EPS Bomb Detail.
A search warrant was then carried out at a home near 45 Avenue and Turner Square where they found more guns, including two loaded shotguns and four rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and another explosive device.
32-year-old Landon Carstairs is charged with 38 drug, firearm, and explosive-related offenses with additional charges pending. (djs)
