A much relieved Senator Mike Duffy finally has the cloud of facing criminal charges now lifted off of him.
Ontario Court Justice Charles Vaillancourt spent hours Thursday, going through each of the 31 charges against Duffy in the Senate expense scandal – and clearing the former broadcaster on every count.
The Justice started the morning by saying he had found Duffy to be a credible witness as he explained how he came to put in his expenses on various things.
The charges were hanging over the federal Conservatives as they campaigned and lost the last federal election, and the Prime Minister’s Office staff was questioned for their roles. (eb)
