Federal Health Minister Jane Philpott announced Wednesday that by 2017 legislation will be proposed to legalize marijuana in Canada.
Both medical and recreational users are rejoicing and are already counting down the days until laws are put in place to legally have a joint at any time during the day.
Marijuana Legalization activist Dana Larsen joined The Ryan Jespersen Show and said the current laws in place wrong citizens who enjoy smoking the plant.
“For me it’s a human rights perspective. It’s their right to put whatever they want in their body, especially that cannabis is so much safer than alcohol and tobacco,” says Larsen. “This war on cannabis is along the same ideology as racism and homophobia and we need to abandon those ideals as we progress into the future.”
Once marijuana is legalized, will it impact your life in any way?
